Share the Warmth Program

Share the Warmth program assists individuals who are in immediate threat of having their heat source shut off... applicants can contact Thunder Bay Hydro to see where the application centres will be located this winter.

Applicants must meet one of the following Criteria:

• must be a family... singles don't qualify for the program
• or have a disability
• or be a senior
• or be receiving income support, ie: Ontario Works, ODSP, ETC
• Maximum entitlement is $300 per season.

Share the Warmth does not pay arrears

There are three grants for residents on the north side of the city and three grants for residents on the south side.

If a qualifying individual is in immediate threat of having their heat source shut off... that individual can contact one of the application centres. Share the Warmth will then be able to contact the gas or hydro company to postpone the cut off for 30 days.

The funds are disbursed through a charity and are released as quickly as they come in. If you would like to donate to this fund please contact Thunder Bay Hydro to find out how you can do this.
