When attempting to take control of your finances you might ask:
"Why should I care about where I am right now"?
In order to take control of your finances and to be proactive in your decision making you need to understand:
- "where you are right now" which means "what is happening" with my finances right at this moment in time?
- "what's coming in and what's going out!
Until you figure out "what is happening" to you right now:
- you won't be able to make any changes because you won't have the information you need to be able to figure out what to do.
Where do I want to go from here:
- what do I want to accomplish, what are my goals, are they short term, medium or long term goals?
- distinguish between needs and wants
- learn how to live within my means
How will I get there:
- education and information
- what's the plan going to be?
- budgeting, pay cheque planning, saving for: emergencies, education, pleasure and retirement
- financial planning
- income tax planning
- figure out how to get what you want
- consumer education and information
