Union Gas has launched its annual winter warmth program, which offers emergency relief to low-income families who have difficulty paying their natural gas bills.
The program operates in partnership with 28 United Ways across the province. Customers can receive a one-time financial assistance worth up to $500 per household.
Eligible participants include Union Gas customers from low-income households who, due to reduced income or personal difficulties, are in arrears or at risk of going into arrears on their gas bill, and who have exhausted all other sources of financial support.
Union Gas customers in the Thunder Bay area needing financial assistance to pay their gas bills can contact the Lakehead Social Planning Council, 125 S. Syndicate Ave., Victoriaville Mall, Suite 38, Thunder Bay or visit their website at www.lspc.ca/
In order to reduce your heating costs you may want to consider conservation as a long term solution to permanently lowering heating bills. Union Gas provides a range of tools and education to give consumers the opportunity to take control and manage their energy use. For more information visit www.uniongas.com/energyefficiency
