Union Gas plans to help families in financial need this winter to cover the costs of their heating bills across Ontario.
The utility launched its Annual Winter Warmth program offering relief to low income families who are struggling to make ends meet. Winter Warmth is coordinated by a network of community agencies.
Who qualifies for Winter Warmth?
The program is designed for those living at /or below the poverty line who've exhausted all other sources of financial support. The Union Gas program offers approved houselholds one-time financial assistance up to $500 per household each Winter Warmth season. If your application is approved the funds are credited directly to your Union Gas bill.
To be eligible for funding you must meed at least one or more of the following conditions:
- have a Union Gas or Enbridge Gas Distribution bill that is currently in arrears;
- have recently received a disconnection notice;
- are experiencing personal circumstances that make it difficult to pay their current natural gas bill
